Capri Services/ Upstart Ltd. [owned by Robert Adel] and Blazing Colors [owned by Kent Young] have been doing business for over 30 years. Robert Adel started cleaning windows at that time and Kent Young started cleaning chimneys. Since then thanks to requests from customers, they have each taken on more and more tasks.
Don't you love companies that tell you they have "52 years combined experience"? Maybe it means there is one guy who has been working for 51 years and 5 helpers have been there a couple months...
The problem is that many customers do not know that we do anything else. If they originally contracted us to do windows, they may not know that we can clean their dryer vent or even rebuild it if neccessary. If they originally called us to clean their chimney they may not know that we have a great line of tubular skylights which we can install to brighten up those dark laundry rooms or hallways.
We
built this website in an attempt to let our loyal customers as well as new
customers experience the whole enchilada... er... pie with all the spices
and juices and tempting smells- to use an analogy. People may think we are
just apples or just the spices [Robert can get a little crusty at times].
We want to give them a taste of the whole pie, maybe even add a little ala-mode.
Click on a few of the links to the left and look around at a some of the things we do. It you don't see something- we may do it too, or we may decide to do it if it intrigues us enough. Or we may know someone who does do it.
One thing we cannot do is half a job. We are fanatical about finding out how to do the things we do RIGHT... then doing that or deciding we don't have the skills or tools. The reason we have stopped doing several types of work is that we could not do the job the way the competition does them [read not top quality]. In other words we could not compete and make a living wage. Some of the things which normal people know very little about [such as radon mitigation] are easily done in a way that looks right but may or may not be correct. Often this not the installer's fault as he has not been trained well enough.
Robert and Kent have a lot of experience on ladders and neither have any hesitation in going onto them. Kent has been installing chimneys since soon after he started cleaning them [building future work]. Robert purchased the chimney sweeping business but soon realized he liked that kind of work also and they started working together. Let me tell you it really helps to have a second person around in this line of work.
We don't make as much as some chimney sweeps because we don't clean your chimney unless it needs to be cleaned. If we can't do a job we will tell you that. We will soon have the capability of letting you pay for larger jobs right here on this site.
